Why GreenPower?

  • You'll help get more electricity from wind and sun made in Australia.
  • It's the only government accredited and audited green energy program.
  • You can switch in as little as 10 minutes.
  • Climate action is a race. You'll feel good about doing something that really counts. It's pretty much the single best thing you can do for our planet today.*

* Unless you're an international jet-setter flying to Rome and New York every second week. Then reducing your flight time is probably the best thing you can do for our planet.

How to check if you’re on a GreenPower plan

Many people think they’re on a GreenPower plan but discover they’re on a carbon neutral plan instead, which is inferior.

Dig out your last bill. If you’re on a GreenPower plan, you should see it costed as a separate line item.

Sometimes electricity providers call GreenPower different things like PureEnergy 100%, so you might need to call your provider and double check if you can't see GreenPower on your bill.

What to watch out for

Carbon neutral electricity plans

Many electricity companies are pushing these at present. What’s the difference? GreenPower electricity plans help get more electricity from wind and solar farms made - they help reduce the source of dirty emissions. Carbon neutral plans don’t.

Cost

If you call your current provider and get quoted a much higher rate than you pay now, shop around. Electricity prices change all the time. You should be able to get 100% GreenPower deal for like what you pay now. Note: All electricity prices rose in July 2022.
